St. Josephs Convent Secondary School Bathinda - History

It was 12January 1961 when three Sisters Mother Gemma, Sr. Florence, and Sr. Benilda came to Bathinda .The people of Bathinda, welcomed them with a open heart. The generosity and warm hospitality combined with their deep reverence religious leaders, encouraged the sisters to begin a school here. The sisters were housed in a building of Mr. Jagdish Malhotra in the Civil Lines. The school started with 25 students in 1961. It was affiliated to PSEB in the beginning but soon shifted to CBSE New Delhi. The students of the school have not only excelled in academics where they have achieved magnificent Board Results year after year but also in co curricular activities. They have represented Punjab in many national level science competitions. The reputation of the school has grown leaps and bounds and the parents feel privileged to get their children educated here. Block after block has been added to the building which now houses 48 classes, Science and Maths labs, library, computer labs and Administration block. The school has progressed under the able leadership of 11 principals and hard working staff. The school at present has strenth of about 2800 students.
